The London Olympic and Paralympic Games Test Event 2011
In the July of 2011 an Olympic Equestrian Test Event was held at Greenwich Park, London to test the processes and facilities for the 2012 Games.
LOCOG's testing programme focussed primarily on testing the field of play, results, scoring and timing systems, as well as key operational procedures and functions.
46 Eventing horses attended the 3 day event held in the Royal Park. This was an excellent opportunity for Peden to test some of the logistical procedures which would be put in place for the Games.
In order to manage the security risks all vehicles must be pre-screened prior to entering Greenwich Park. This will be done at a venue called the Equestrian Staging Post. Peden erected a temporary facility at Shooters Hill to try out the procedures for the arriving Event horses.
It was an excellent opportunity for Peden to identify and overcome the challenges for 2012.
