Shanghai LGCT 2014

Peden have successfully achieved a significant change to the long term EU ban on imports of Sports horses from China.

Working with International Authorities, on behalf of the Longines Global Champions Tour, Peden Bloodstock have successfully negotiated a change to quarantine laws to allow the very top level International Show Jumpers to travel to Shanghai for the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour.

Crucially the Chinese and European Authorities reached an agreement which will permit the horses to compete in China and return to Europe without lengthly quarantine and export requirements.

We would like to thank Officials throughout Europe, Beijing and Shanghai who have supported us during this endeavour and without whom we would not have achieved such a significant milestone for Horse Sport in China.

With the approval of the leaders of the municipal government of Shanghai, Shanghai Sports Bureau and the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) have agreed that the first LGCT event to be held in China will take place in Shanghai on June 6-8, 2014.

In a July 22 meeting with Longines Global Champions Tour Founder and President Jan Tops and LGCT advisor John L. Thornton, Mayor Yang Xiong said Shanghai looked forward to hosting the world’s premier equestrian series in accordance with its agreement with LGCT and to working together to promote the healthy growth of equestrian sports in Shanghai, China.
